Here goes

This is a blog about my experience of Cam23 : the Cambridge "23 things" Web 2.0 programme.

I am looking forward to finding out how these 23 Web 2.0 things can be applied in the library world and used to provide and promote library services. Well to be honest my first goal is to find out what all the 23 things can be!

I already use Facebook and Twitter - so I'm hoping that's two of the "things". I find Twitter useful for gathering information from other library colleagues and various libraries. I am following several libraries to see how they use Twitter to inform their readers with a view to setting up an account for my library. I joined Facebook with a similar view - intending to set up a library account, but now see it as more useful for social than professional networking. I have used a wiki when contributing to a newsletter within the CamTools VLE. I am a follower of various blogs but have not yet dared to blog myself. This is new and quite scary territory!
