Things 1 and 2 and I become an iGoogler

I managed to set up my iGoogle page without any problems. I tried adding lots of widgets and then tried taking most of them out again. Do I really need penguins dancing on the screen?
I settled on having some useful library widgets for the UL and Copac in addition to a few others of general use. I added the blogs for Cam23 and ebooks@cambridge. It is here that I can see the usefulness of iGoogle - it brings together the blogs I would like to follow and so I dont have to find them all seperately.
I can see how it would be useful for a library to setup an iGoogle page for its readers, with a useful set of reference sources and blogs.
Adding this screenshot wasn't straightforward as after a while trying to use photo editing software I realised that it wasnt going to work and had to ask for help before trying Paint which worked straight away.
I have been looking at other blogs for Cam23 and although it takes a while to look through (and try to work out who is blogging!) I have already picked up useful tips.

  1. *Everyone* needs penguins on their screen! Oh OK, I may be a bit biased ;-)

I use Paint for my screenshots as well - I know there's classier software out there but it works for me.

On the subject of such pages for libraries, have you seen the Lewy Library's NetVibes page at http://www.netvibes.com/lewylib#General?

  2. Hi Catherine,

    Like your iGoogle screen shot!
I'm also gleaning inspiration from other blogs, which I hope will be reflected in my later postings.
