I already have a Twitter account so I could jump into the later stages of Thing 7. I have so far tended to read other people's tweets rather than contributing my own. I have found it useful to follow the tweets of other libraries to see how they use twitter and I do feel that an account for my library could be useful for relaying information to library users. Having said this it is not surprising to me when I hear that it tends to be mainly librarians following tweets from libraries. Having librarians as library followers is fine of course but I would like to make sure that my library tweets are relevant and useful enough for library users to want to follow.
I have sent a few tweets to #cam23 and am finding the comments from other Cam 23 ers interesting to follow.
Twitter keeps being over capacity when I am trying to use it - hence the screenshot. Is it only night owls that can successfully tweet?
Hi Catherine,
ReplyDeleteI've been freading other libraries/librarians Tweets rather than posting any of my own. At Education we tend to use announcements on CamTools to communicate with readers because they are all auotomatically registered when they start their, whereas Twitter is purely voluntary.
